With students mostly unable to physically tour a college or university due to COVID-19-related visitor restrictions, colleges and universities are offering virtual tours. The virtual tours will provide prospective students the ability to explore the campus, hear about academic programs, as well as to understand the unique opportunities and requirements that vary from one school to the next throughout Florida.
Virtual tours will take you on a “walk” through campus with 360-degree views inside certain buildings, paired with an informative narration about the programs and opportunities the school provides. Florida Atlantic University (FAU) VIRTUAL TOUR
Established in 1961, Florida Atlantic University officially opened its doors in 1964 as the fifth public university in Florida. Located in Boca Raton, the university offers more than 170 undergraduate and graduate degree programs to more than 30,000 students within its 10 colleges.
Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) VIRTUAL TOUR
“Excellence with Caring” is the motto at FAMU. Located in Tallahassee, the school was founded in 1887, and is the fifth largest historically black university in the United States with an enrollment of more than 10,000 students.
Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) VIRTUAL TOUR
Located between Fort Myers and Naples on the Southwest Florida coast, Florida Gulf Coast University encompasses 800 acres on which academic buildings, residence halls and athletics facilities share space with wetlands, pinewoods, and boardwalks in a natural setting. Florida International University (FIU) VIRTUAL TOUR
Florida International University is Miami’s public research university, and has rapidly grown to become a top 100 public university, according to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges. FIU has 57,000 students, with 75 percent of whom live and work in South Florida.
Florida Polytechnic University (Florida Poly) VIRTUAL TOUR
Established in 2012, Florida Polytechnic University is the state’s newest university. With a focus on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), the school is located in Lakeland and provides cutting-edge degree programs that prepare graduates to take on today’s fastest-growing fields.
Florida State University (FSU) VIRTUAL TOUR
Long recognized as one of the nation’s elite research institutions, Florida State University also achieved international renown for the quality of its programs in the sciences and humanities. Located in the heart of the state capital, the Florida State community includes 41,000 students, 16 colleges, and more than 6,000 faculty and staff.
New College (The Honors College of Florida) VIRTUAL TOUR
Located in Sarasota, New College of Florida educates intellectually curious students. New College offers 35 undergraduate majors and a master’s degree program in data science. With only 800 students and 80 full-time faculty engaged in interdisciplinary research and collaborative learning, the College’s rigorous curriculum prepares students for the demands of doctoral and professional degree programs. New College is the top public college in the nation for the percentage of its graduates who go on to earn doctorate degrees.
University of Central Florida (UCF) VIRTUAL TOUR
An emerging preeminent university, UCF offers more than 220 degrees programs at its main campus in Orlando. UCF’s world-class research, innovative community partnerships, and integration of technology and learning,has led U.S. News and World Report to regularly rank UCF as one of the top 10 most innovative universities in the nation.
University of Florida (UF) VIRTUAL TOUR
UF is called “the Everything School” for a reason. A top-10 public university aiming for top five, the University of Florida is among the nation’s most academically diverse institutions. With an enrollment of more than 54,000 students, UF is home to 16 colleges offering nearly 300 degree programs. Only five other U.S. universities have as many areas of study on one campus.
University of North Florida (UNF) VIRTUAL TOUR
Situated in Jacksonville between downtown and the beaches, UNF was established in 1969. 17,000 students at UNF choose from 52 undergraduate degree programs and 132 areas of concentration, 25 graduate, and three doctoral degree programs.
University of South Florida (USF) VIRTUAL TOUR
With campuses in Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota-Manatee, the university serves more than 50,000 students by offering more than 200 undergraduate, graduate, specialist, and doctoral degrees. From 2013 to 2019, USF rose faster than any other public or private university in the country, in U.S. News and World Report’s annual rankings of best colleges.
University of West Florida (UWF) VIRTUAL TOUR
Established in 1963 in historic Pensacola, Florida, UWF is home to just under 13,000 students on a campus that is situated on a wilderness preserve, and right near the Escambia River. UWF has five colleges: College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities; College of Business; College of Education and Professional Studies; Usha Kundu, MD College of Health; and the Hal Marcus College of Science and Engineering.
