Dress Code

School is a student’s place of business and appropriate dress is important.

Disruptive clothing is forbidden.

  1. Comply with the School District of Palm Beach County Dress Code Policy. The Principal or Administration shall have final authority to decide if a student’s attire complies with our district’s dress code.
  2. Students not in dress code will be given the choice of borrowing clothing from the school for the day or calling their parent/guardian to bring a change of clothes.
  3. Heads must be uncovered at all times except in cases of health or religious requirements. Bandanas, bonnets, wraps, scarves, doo-rags, wave caps, ski masks etc. are NOT PERMITTED to be worn.
  4. All students must be covered from shoulders to mid-thigh.
  5. School issued I.D. cards are required as part of the dress code and must be visible at all times and not altered.
  6. Fridays are designated as “Trojan Spirit Day” and students may wear any LWCHS shirt (i.e. LWCHS team shirt, club shirt, activity shirt, LIA shirt, etc.)

1st Offense: Documented verbal warning
2nd Offense: Parent Call
3rd Offense: Parent Conference
4th Offense and Up: Office Discipline Referral

Headware

Permitted: Caps and Headbands

Not Permitted: Heads must be uncovered at all times except in cases of health or religious requirements. Bandanas, bonnets, wraps, scarves, doo-rags, wave caps, ski-masks, etc. are NOT PERMITTED to be worn.

Tops

Permitted: Tops must reach hem (top) of pants and Spirit Shirts allowed on Fridays.

Not Permitted: NO Sleeveless or tank tops, NO Midriff showing, even when the arms are raised, NO Pajamas, sheer or see-through garments, NO BLANKETS are permitted to be worn on campus as outerwear–if there is a hardship please see administration.

Bottoms

Permitted: All pants must be worn securely at the natural waistline. Rips or tears in clothing above the mid-thigh front and back. Shorts, skirts, dresses (fingertip length–mid thigh)

Not Permitted: NO Pajama Bottoms, NO Sheer Leggings worn as pants or shorts, No revealing of undergarments.

Shoes

Permitted: Sneakers or athletic shoes preferred. Shoes shall be worn at all times.

Not Permitted: NO house slippers in any form

Jackets and Sweaters

Permitted: Zippered/Pullover Hoodies, pullover sweatshirts are permitted. If outerwear attire is removed, unbuttoned or unzipped, the under layer is required to be within the standard dress code.

Not Permitted: NO Inappropriate pictures, words, or slogans (drugs, tobacco, alcohol, sexual content, weapons, curse words, etc.)

Picture ID

Permitted: Students must have an I.D. on a school provided lanyard. *Student ID cards issued by the District will include the national or statewide crisis and suicide hotlines and text lines.

Not Permitted: NO digital IDs–must be physical copy. NO pictures of ID on phones. MAY NOT be altered or COVERED in any way.
