The Trojan Symphonic Band Travels to USF in Tampa

The Lake Worth High School Trojan Sound Symphonic Band traveled to University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa, Florida, on April 26, upon invitation to perform at the University of South Florida.

Dr. Matthew McCutch, director of bands at USF, provided a post-performance workshop in which the Trojan Sound received small group and whole-ensemble feedback and instruction.

Following the workshop, the band was escorted around the USF campus in a custom tour that emphasized the students’ interests and future career paths.

The Trojan Sound celebrated a phenomenal performance with a day of fun and thrills at Busch Gardens. After a whirlwind 4-day, 3-night experience, the band is tired, but ready to get back to work!

“We learned so much from Dr. McCutchen and are excited to apply the feedback to improve for our spring concert” band director, Tiffany Cox said. “We received donations from several extremely generous members of our community to sponsor this trip. It means a lot to have the support of the community and local businesses because it shows that the arts are alive and thriving in Lake Worth Beach!”

The Trojan Sound will have its Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 7 at 6:30pm in the LWHS Auditorium.  Admission is free and donations are graciously accepted. The LWHS Jazz Band, Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble, and Color Guard will be performing and the Lake Worth Middle School Warrior Wind Ensemble under the direction of Mr. David Suarez will be performing as well! See you on May 7.
